Client: Collaborative Cataloging Japan
GhM worked closely with Collaborative Cataloging Japan and Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia to realize Community of Images: Japanese Moving Image Artists in the US, 1960s-1970s; an exhibition that explored experimental moving images created by Japanese artists and their connections to colleagues in North America. In addition to overseeing AV design for this show, GhM fabricated a new version of Ko Nakajima’s 1969 piece Liquid Projector, an experimental projector made of 16mm film strips, two motors, and over sixty lenses. Liquid Projector is now housed in the permanent collection of the MoMA.
